2012 Travel and Hospitality Expenses

The travel expenses are related to Mr. Smith’s participation to a meeting with members of the Board in Montreal. Mr. Smith resides in Toronto.

The travel expenses are related to Mr. Laliberté’s participation at the 2012 NHL All-Star Celebration in Ottawa, a meeting with the Associate Deputy Minister of Transport, and a speech to the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce, the registration. Mr. Laliberté was also present at the various stages following the derailment of a train in south western Ontario.

The hospitality expenses include registration fees for a conference of the International Union of Railways (UIC HighSpeed 2012) and a membership to a club for business people in Montreal.

The travel expenses are related to Mr. Smith’s meeting at Exporail in Saint-Constant with lead communicators of Via Rail, a business meal with Mr Laliberté and at the participation to the Board meeting held in Winnipeg. Mr. Smith resides in Toronto.

The travel and hospitality expenses are related to Mr. Laliberté’s meetings of Excellence Canada, its presence at the annual fundraising event of the Red Cross, at the Gala of the Governor General's Performing Arts in 2012, its participation in a roundtable of Presidents and CEO of crown corporations organized by the School of Public Service of Canada and the purchase of airline tickets for the InnoTrans Conference 2012 in Berlin in September 2012.

The hospitality expenses include 7 business meals.

The travel expenses are related to Mr. Smith’s participation to the celebration of the Grey Cup 100 Train Tour, a meeting with the minister of State (Transport) in Ottawa and his participation to the Board meeting held in Halifax. Mr. Smith resides in Toronto.

The travel and hospitality expenses are related to Mr. Laliberté’s meetings with employees across the country, his participation to the conference of the International Union of Railways (UIC HighSpeed 2012) in Philadelphia, a meeting with the minister of State (Transport) in Ottawa and at the participation to the Board meeting held in Halifax.

The hospitality expenses include a reimbursement for the registration fee for the conference in Philadelphia and 9 business meals.

The travel expenses are related to Mr Smith with Minister of Finance Mr Jim Flaherty and deputy of Whitby-Oshawa as well as VIA Rail representatives, at the official opening of a new overhead walkway and island platform at the Oshawa train station. The expenses also are related to the Ottawa Board Meeting. Mr. Smith resides in Toronto.

The travel expenses are related to Mr Laliberté’s conferences outside of the country (InnoTrans 2012 Berlin and UIC International Union of Railways – Paris), to a speech at Toronto Board of Trade, a recognition event employees at Vancouver Station, its participation in the evening of Brilliant Exploits and his presence to the Ottawa Board meeting.
