More Great Bee-haviour!

VIA Rail’s partnership with Alvéole This link opens in a new tab reached new heights with more rooftop beehive installations! The top of our stations in Ottawa and Quebec City are now home to new honey-making hives. This project has a significant educational component, aiming to reconnect urban populations with fauna and flora, and will contribute to the development of greener cities. The new hive installations are in addition to the one already in place on the rooftop of our station in Vancouver – with Winnipeg station to come! Since bees forage within a five-kilometer radius, each city’s beehives will produce honey specific to the environment around the stations where they live. Sweet!
