New Fleet Exterior Design Reveal

Starting next year, you’ll be seeing something new in the Québec City-Windsor corridor. Something bold, evocative and never-before-seen on Canadian tracks.

We’re pleased to share with you the very first look at the design of our state-of-the-art, brand new fleet. Bringing to life our signature colour palette, the exterior design—or livery—of our 32 trainsets will feature VIA Rail yellow, charcoal, gray and black, applied seamlessly and elegantly from front to back. Of course, our iconic logo and Red Maple Leaf are also featured prominently, proudly displaying our Canadian heritage. This bold design represents a new era in Canadian passenger rail travel.

Set to enter service in late 2022, this sleek-looking new fleet, featuring an energy-efficient hybrid engine and the latest in universal accessibility, will offer passengers in the Québec City-Windsor corridor a new standard in service and comfort. 

After the successful completion of the design phases of the new fleet program —launched in 2018— we’re thrilled with the result and we’re confident that our new fleet will allow us to continue to meet the needs and expectations of 21st-century train travel.
